How much can I remember how much can I remember? *restless* what to do what to do? There's so much, too much to do... No, no, just this much more to Saturday and another paper will be over, and then it's marathon for Monday again! Need to do something to work off this restlessness so I can digest more info. munch munch crunch crunch... another swim on Sunday will be good, although last week I was swimming one eighth of a lap at a time, changing lanes and siamming rows of little kids that can swim much faster than I can and were ALL AROUND me, so I got a number of kicks and no apologies =( Since when did the pool become so popular? Oh wait. Cos it's hols liao. =|
Stretched my break for a long time liao so I shall ramble as quickly as possible and hope that I'll have worked off this restlessness. Took a look at my hols timetable just now, Cons pracs and extra small-group pracs are yet to be slotted in, but it's nearly full-up =( Every alternate day is taken. Now, with the extra pracs slotted in... *shudders* I'll be more busy this hols than I'd ever been in the school term. Hey! I know I did say I miss singing, but... BUT!!! *indignant* I'm singing on 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25...! with more to come, too! and I want to go for the concert on the 2nd, and the workshop on the 4th & 5th, but everything clashes =( I'm gonna have such a time explaining this to my mum. Hoho. I shall keep quiet until exams' over. =x
You know what I really wanna do? No, of course you don't, so I'll tell you whether you like it or not. Ha! I want to go explore all the ulu little places in Singapore and take pictures (and Char promised to bring us around too, in rapid amazing-race style), have the 4-in-1 birthday bash with Char Agl and Weny as promised, do our ridiculous Champion spoof, go back to visit St Nicks (they repainted the new extension! Drove down Ave 2 the other day while passing notes to Ser... Was in a total state of bliss--That's My School... I miss that place so much =/), go out with my SC girls and sit down and have a long noisy catching up session, watch Let's Begin Again with the choir girls (if we do manage to get the VCD... Maria and Dyn haven't watch yet!), meet up with all the SN-NY people I haven't seen for ages, go sing karaoke, read lotsa books, pack my table, service my computer, and write a bunch of short stories, and continue to decorate my choir album. Lala! Of course in true Charm style half of it will be left undone and the rest will be half-done, but I will attempt to carry some of them through, time or no time. And then I'll need to rearrange my schedule so I won't be so busy getting nothing done =/
And of course there are more extreme things like attempt a novel, and pick up yoga pilates or dance, pick up a totally new, less studied language like Tamil ^^ go get myself thrown into the air in one of those bungee-thingies near the Esplanade, take up ice-skating, experiment with totally different writing styles and commenting avidly on social and political and entertainment news (like I will -_- worth a mention, anyhow, like a challenge of sorts) and decide if I should write and send out 50 Christmas cards. Or not.
Feels great to make a to do list of everything you'll like to do, right? Whoa, the wonderful accomplishments and the big bright future ahead. *re-reads paragraphs* Not that I'll accomplish everything anytime soon, though. For now, back to econs.

In between...
Got any Amadeus ppl popping by? Something just struck me recently, can't believe I forgot all about it.
What happened to our Let's Begin Again VCD and pics? *wails* I waaaaant to watch it together with my girls, especially those who'd missed it the last time round, and because I hadn't really enjoyed the first viewing cos of that dehibilating migraine I got on the PCC =( Yep, sit together and watch and listen and laugh and reminicise and relive the good ol' singing days...
Oh yes, I also need to replay it for my mum to show her exactly where I did my solo. It's not the first time she missed it -_- Until now she still says that she cannot hear me for my Mongolian song solo for Cadenza. Even though I paused and replayed that part ten thousand times. *sigh* Until my brother catches on to the tune and gives me horrific wailing renditions. *cringe*
Can someone help me fulfil my wish? One copy of that precious VCD for me to keep? *hopeful*
And, look at what I've achieved during my exam preparation!

No, I don't watch this cartoon. Guess who does. ;P

Awwww... Now THIS one, I watch.
I did study lar don't fret. I just get bored sometimes. This is just adding a pleasant touch to an otherwise dreary, terrifying experience. =) (excuses, excuses)
More studying! Next paper on Sat, last paper on Monday. Charm will survive! Meanwhile she shall go and recover from her headache. Yay! Econs! Maths! *long, drawn-out sigh* And maybe one more dragon. I shall go loot in my brother's Yu-Gi-Oh deck. ;)

Zhen de feng le
I hate pop-ups. How many times must I tell you? I DO NOT want to search for poker. I DO NOT want to check out Viagra. I am NOT INTERESTED in expanding any part of my body.
To all the stupid companies and websites that degrade themselves into utilising such annoying methods of advertisement: I hope your computer goes POP one day. HAH. Especially to you, searchmiracle.com, go pop yourself and stop swarming my computer with your pop-ups.
And tag board is not working again! Fine. It's flooble after exams...
Compulsive distractions and little concentration equals little work done.
In a while.
(Note: I'm not stressed. Yet. I have resolved not to sink myself into the miserable pre-A level state, so there.)
PS. Quality entries coming up after exams.

Pre-exam nonsense
I'm VERY PEEVED with myself. I have a special flair for 1) Procrasination and 2) Doing all the wrong things at the wrong time. Therefore during the exams period you will see the frequency of blog postings increase, the number of games sites multiply on my Internet Explorer, the hi-scores for multiple games start to climb, Straits Times Life! flipped through from end to end, electricity bills go up, SMSes increase as well, and my table will start to get neater and neater (it's a guilt thing, really. When you don't feel like studying but feel like you need to compensate in some way, you pack your table.) until my next revision rampage, and my brother's sketchbook starts to fill up with nice dragon sketches (of course he's not complaining, he brings them to school to show off... in fact I believe he kinda figured out this is the best time to tempt me with nonsense distractions like draw him a dragon. Bah.) and... and... and oh yes, because I stagnate so much and am not studying enough, I start to get fat.
This is no joke okay. It does not help that my mum tells me I resemble an elephant in the way I stampede around the house; recently I tripped over the stairs while running up to my room, and when I told my dad about it, hoping for some display of concern, he went "Huh? 楼梯有没有坏?"
I will go and swim on Sunday. Even though I look like a ba4 zhang3 in my swimming attire. But meanwhile I will tell everybody that I am heavier than they are because I'm full of 墨水 and bulkloads of examinable information, like how my mum blames me for her tummy: 一看到你我就一肚子气. *nods* Very useful.
Oh yes, among other distractions I have also picked up TV watching-- cartoons, no less, because my brother has figured out how to unblock the kids' channels that took me ten minutes with a manual to block (without even needing the password! the manual is such a liar) and he's been avidly watching Lilo and Stitch The Series, among other nice shows. Told him it's a waste of time watching repeat shows, especially when they are movies that last an hour and a half, but then realised that I was speaking to someone who has watched Finding Nemo so many times that he can recite to me, END TO END, WORD FOR WORD, the WHOLE MOVIE, intonation, grammer, stage directions and all. Even when the DVD is not playing. Yay.
Finished installing XP service pack 2 and discovered that my comp is not better off-- in fact it degenerated into the state whereby my parents often use to describe me--比人家慢三排。 I click on an icon and the window appears only three minutes later... and when I attempt to connect to the internet, it takes eons to locate an IP address. Anyone has lobang as to where I can find someone to service my poor 反应迟钝 computer?
Okay, I gotta end my nonsense here and now, and start revising. Jeez, I'm such an exasperating creature.
PS.: Tagboard seems to be down all the time recently. Maybe I'll get a flooble... but meanwhile do you guys see a "Leave a ripple!" at the end of every post? That's for you to comment... so do feel free to utilise it yah... (read: LEAVE NOTES, people. You have NO EXCUSES. Bwahahaha!)

waiting, writing and reading...
Okay, so now I'm on my comp waiting to for the configuration and installation of all the XP stuff to be over and done with. It's taking a rather long time -_- and for once I want to be getting back to my maths. Quarter-way through a (very! extremely!) backdated tutorial. Managed to touch Chinese after falling asleep over the first chapter at ten minute intervals. Attempted to recite the points so as to keep myself awake but ended up sounding like Jamie Yeo in The Champions. *shudder* I MUST improve my chinese, orally, especially. It's this horrific... reaction that I have when it comes to speaking chinese... I can, actually, speak almost fluently to my family members, and only my family members. You should hear me scold my brother in chinese-- I don't even need to pause to think of appropriate words. Haha! But in the company of strangers or even friends, years of chinese language education seem to have done nuts for me. Argh.
I do like to write 作文 though. I remember doing lots of 周记 and 报章读后感 way back in St Nicks... Sometimes a random letter, or a diary entry... but often it requires a lot of passion to be able to spark that off, because there is a sort of intimacy when writing in Chinese-- it's my mother tongue, after all. And even though people seldom believe me I speak only chinese at home. YES, I do. In my early primary days my English had always lagged a grade behind Chinese and Maths, until of course my treasure hold of Enid Blyton books increased to fill an entire row of their own on the bookshelf. I love reading. There's nothing quite so delightful as losing yourself in another world, in places that can only exist in the realms of imagination, in which your characters hold the key to their destiny, in which somehow, you know everything is going to turn out all right. And then I aspired to be a children's author, to weave stories and create new worlds for kids everywhere... Because, as one of my favourite authors Madeleine L'Engle puts it, "When I have something to say that I think will be too difficult for adults I write it in a book for children. Children are excited by new ideas; they have not yet closed the doors and windows of their imaginations. Provided the story is good... nothin is too difficult for children." Brilliantly put. In fact if not for Lit or those random storybooks that come my way or choir, even, (yes, you do need imagination to express your singing, okay, even though I do admit to stoning during Cons prac -_-|) I'd have forgotten what it's like to imagine. And to lose so simple a skill is to lose a lot.
Have recently decided to indulge myself a little and got myself How to Read Literature Like a Professor for $18.60 at the co-op. I just couldn't resist the moment I set eyes on the title. Have browsed through it and found it a delightful read, with all the wry humour and the conversational style that Lit teachers seem to have when writing comments in your essay. Ladida~ But shall read through it more carefully after exams I guess. There are a lotta things I want to read after exams. Hmm. Here's what little I can remember now...
1) The four short novels in my latest Reader's Digest Select Editions (which reminds me, one of the last collections had a story with the title "Eat Cake", which is brilliantly funny, heart-warming, sweet and touching. Well worth a read. Feel free to borrow from me for some light reading after those heavy mugging)
2) A Room With A View by E.M Forster (Did it for prac crit once. Oooh the excerpt sounded really interesting. Hilarious, too.)
3) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (I KNOW I'm ulu, but for the past couple of years I've somehow failed to borrow the book. Aiya maybe I'll buy it. By the way, the Bollywood movie sort-of adaption is out, anyone want to watch?)
4) Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Caroll (Apparently it's not just a children's bedtime story, it's supposed to have a lot of philosophical meaning behind it. The abridged version got me somewhat befuddled ten years ago... not that I think the situation will improve ten years later if I attempt the unabridged version but... one can always try =P)
5) Animal Farm by George Orwell
6) Finish up How to Read Literature Like A Professor
Of course, I'll balance those up with appropriate shows from Disney Channel and Cartoon Network should they prove to be too taxing on my brain =D Meanwhile I have six other Lit books to clear for the upcoming exam ='| so I better worry for those, first. Okay. Time to plop back into maths for as long as I can keep awake. Hooray.

Which literature classic are you?

Virginia Woolf: Orlando. You are a challenge, for
outer events, the outside world, the time etc.
play no importance to you. Your focus is in
writing, in gender issues, and inside your own
head. Self-analysis and exploration of yourself
as well as the outer world hold great
importance to you.
Which literature classic are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
Don't know about gender issues, haven't very much contact with those, pretty volatile topic, too. Otherwise... I do have a fascination with self-analysis ;) That's kinda why it's so fun to blog, yes?
