Just to update you all lar, since the fever's down and all, and I'm beginning to eat without throwing up existent and non-existent food, and am up and about and not feeling weak and woozy and fuzzy...

I've developed rashes though, and it iiiiiitches. Drives me nuts. I'm now flushed red all over, and feeling rather aggravated at the fact.

Today's my *counts* 6th visit to the doc. Neighbourhood doc, 24hr clinic doc, chinese sinseh, and so on and so forth. Have a basin packed with medication of all sorts now. The final's verdict yet to be out, awaiting the blood test to see whether it is--or is not-- dengue. Better not be lar, hor.

Okay, going for more calamine lotion. I've been whining too much here! It's okay to ignore me, you know, people. I'm really very touched by all the concern but hey, I'll pull thru, no worries. I feel guilty seeing all the nice comments down the side. And Sharon dearest, thanks so much for sticking around that day!!! I really felt like a flimsy wispy paper doll. Probably acted like one also =| And I was really glad you were there =)

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeks caaaaanot take it anymore~ You guys take care, I gtg le...

PS. Darn. I miss singing. And I don't feel like studying. How?

And desperation sets in

_______________________________________
Dear Dr M,

Two nights ago I caught a high fever and till this morning my temperature has yet to subside despite medication. Would like to know, if I am unable to recover by tomorrow morning in time to go for the examination, what is the official procedure I need to follow? (Handing in MC, etc...) Will there be a make-up examination?

So sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Charmaine

Cannot make it lar. Fever has just subsided to 38 degree celsius after an all time high of 40.2, but still woozy and hot and hands are still burning. Can't study. How to go for exams like that?

Maybe I should have taken the injection the doc suggested. Darn.

Should I take the exam tomorrow? Or just turn in my MC?

Feverish

Hot hot hot hot hot hot hot.......

I can't believe myself. Seriously, Charm. Why do you get yourself into such ridiculous states this sem? And I thought you weren't one for getting stressed up so easily.

Really burning up. How many panadols to bring down the fever? And I don't wanna sponge myself with cold water, nor switch on the air-con... makes me super chilly.

......

Drop by another couple more degrees, c'mon... of all times to get feverish nights and burning days this is just so not the time. I need to salvage my English on Monday... And it's unfair to make people worry. Especially my mum. Argh...

Before I launch into more delirious ranting I better log off and have a bite first.

......

Shucks.

Incoherent and High... fragmented narrative

(You have been warned.)

My arm muscles are screaming in pain. Alamak what's wrong?

Finished my portfolio. I'm in love with the world once more. Yay! Let's do some studying! (PS. I love my family to bits. It's mum and dad and brother to the rescue! Sets wouldn't have worked out so decently without them helping the clumsy daughter out... Thankewthankewthankewthankewthankew...)

Library is packed from end to end the last I checked. Man, muggers so totally creep me out. I have yet to start revision.

Exasperated mum to daughter, "You're just like the police in Hongkong shows... the things are stolen, the people are dead, the house is burnt to the ground, the criminal has escaped... and then you come in and go 'Huh? What happened? What's going on?' "
Man. She never does run out of analogies when it comes to telling me how slow I am.

We performed at the Black Box today! I LOVE our TS group! *draws hearts all over* They're such funky cheery 'on' people! Hohoho! I shall upload the crazy photos soon. And yes, I love TC and GS and even GC! more TC la but well... must not snatch him from his number one fan... hor Sharon hor? ;P

Oh and I love mudpies. And potato ^_^

More news after I actually BEGIN and ACCOMPLISH some revision for my TWO papers on FRIDAY. And when my arms stop aching. So disorganised and so messed up, but now that one important event is cleared the relief is refreshing, so we can get organised and get going! Yeeep!

Thanks to all the lovable people for your concern. Charm'll be fine. Charm'll always be fine no matter what... or so she believes... and faith can work wonders, so worry you not!

PS. (to SweeNgee: Try downloading ad-aware to scan and delete all the pop-ups and adware from your computer... it really helps a lot~)

Man. I hate migraines. Too many this month. Too many too many.

Sunday, April 17, 2005

In the whirlwind of activities, and the sudden, abrupt silence that follows, I seem to have picked up something I lost almost a month ago, which probably explains the overwhelming sense of relief washing over me when left alone in the quiet trip home by myself.

Peace peace peace peace peace... where have you been all this while? I missed you so much!

It's so therapeutic to find yourself after the wild activity in your head subsides to a quiet hum, and you get to sort things out without being plunged into sudden anxiety. No matter how temporary. This little silver of peace--in the midst of a mad rush to get something, anything done but accomplishing nothing at all--is enough to clear things up for that little while... I can hear myself again! and gear the self up for a better, steadier pace ahead. ^_^ Jia you Charm!

Mass Emails

I wonder what it is about mass emails containing an advice laced with a little psychological manipulation, that is actually all but an instruction directed at one's good sense and maturity. Granted, it's not directed at me and that the writer has absolutely good intentions, but the indirect implication (perhaps unintended) at another's inherent silliness and immaturity is really... quite... annyoing.

Just one of the latest of the series of emails that irk me whenever they turns up. Probably because I'm darn particular about what I write and how it affects the people who are gonna read it. Sparing a little thought for your intended audience goes a long way. Wanna give someone a piece of your mind? A little reproach? Do it face-to-face, or, if it has to be emailed for convenience sake, then cut the sarcasm and email only the people involved, and keep things as sincere as possible. Wouldn't hurt to proof-read what you've written to see if you're unconsciously dissing someone and letting everyone else share in the dissing by forwarding them a copy, too.

Just my two cents. Probably with my prejudices mixed within too, after having my fonder memories subverted by all these underlying tension. Jeez, be nicer to one another lar. The world would be a much more lovable place if people could have an activity to look forward to with anticipation and delight, without being made to feel obligated and stressed, right?

"If you have collected your essay and do not agree with the marks allocated or are having sleepless nights and nightmarish waking hours over your grades, do come and see me at the allocated timings or email me your soft copy for a second viewing or consideration on my part."

Man, he is just tempting me. I can almost imagine now...

"Dear Harry, I've read my essay over and like it very much indeed, would you like to consider giving me an A+ instead?"

Hahaha! Okay, maybe not. It's ridiculously tempting, though. ^_^

Hate swimming in something that I have no grasp of. A lifeline, somebody? Why did I ever choose to do sets design? Oh I know... because I doubted my acting skills could secure me a decent enough grade. But now... Gosh. What now? what now? *panics*

I oughta stop dreaming of all the work I need to finish even in my sleeping hours and awake with a sudden jolt of panic at the thought of all things that I haven't done.

Sigh. Shall go and meditate myself into sanity first before attempting anything else.

Midi

Changed the midi at last... Longer was beginning to freak me out cos I think we've practiced it a million times over, and hearing it everytime I visit my blog(and I visit my blog a gazillion times a day, because I'm a narcisstic creature who love to read my own published works... Ok okay, I'm kidding, lar...) well, let's just say it gets a little overwhelming =P

So here's Somewhere Out There instead, until the next time I decide to tweak my blog layout. Love this song. Reminds me of my SN choir days, and also of the days in NY practising this song for talent-time with three other lovable people, whom I haven't seen for a long long time :| Till now the tune still has the ability to make me go "awwwwwww". Love the wistful melody and the gentle instrumental sounds tingling quietly in the background... Yep, hugs and kisses to Wenyi for sending me the site add! You can click here
to listen to all the nostalgic little tunes you've heard as a kid but can barely find nowadays =)

Record-breaking!

Worked on my essay overnight, all the way up to 7am in the morning, staying awake on nothing but bottles and bottles of water (oh, and the sheer necessity of having to complete the essay by the following day). That's 9 straight hours in front of the computer working on nothing but the essay.

Impressive. Am very amazed at myself, actually. Have never stayed up like that before. Am really hoping it wouldn't become a habit though, despite the fact that I was more wide awake than usual, and rather high throughout the rest of the day.

Drowsiness creeping in now. And my butt aches from having sat on it for hours on end. Jeez. Till next time, then!

Someone must really really teach me how to write essays fluidly. Else how am I gonna sustain myself through my major?

Don't exactly want to do something else because Lit is so irresistably fascinating.

Until you get to the essay writing part.

*wails*

I would like to write novels for kids. Nice long narrative stories. Stuff like that.

Okay, break over. Back to essay-writing. Good luck, Charm...
