A couple of days ago a cartoonist was invited to my brother's school for a learn-to-draw-cartoons assembly item, and my brother came back and taught me the stuff they gotta do during assembly (well, they only got round to doing Spongebob in detail, apparently, but never mind). Now, being the incorrigible girl that I am, I was irresistably charmed, so draw I did.
And then I decided that drawing alone is not enough, of course, so I kopped his sketchbook and re-drew, and kopped his colour pencils and began to colour.
Not enough, I thought. Needs a background colour.
But then of course it didn't look so very interesting, so upon my brother's instigation I continued to improvise on the background. Spongebob's house, maybe?
And while I'm at it, might as well go all the way. So in comes Patrick and his house, and little pathways, and sandy seafloor, and more shades of blue.
Hence this.
And because I didn't have enough of colouring (oh you horrible girl you) I helped him colour his penciled pokemon traceouts.
Sigh. I need to grow up.

Pre-exam therapy
From the INFP website:
"...Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand..." (the Skin Horse) -it's a stuffed toy, by the way :)
I think that's what we need to know, deep down inside. That when you come to understand a person, that when a person comes to understand you... you can't ever be ugly. Because every person is a lovely creature in his or her own right.
INFPs struggle with the issue of their own ethical perfection... Now this bit of non-revelation came at an odd time, while my mind was dwelling upon related issues. I have a wicked inclination to elaborate and whine and make noise, but while a blog is meant for some sort of catharsis, it is also meant for an audience. Which means we must know what to say, and what not to.
That said, everything happens for a purpose, whether it's about a 151 that doesn't turn up for an hour (*grumble mumble moan*) or a task you didn't want to get through with. You learn stuff, you discover tiny subtle little things that cannot be taught by mere telling. Which is quite all right, after all =)
K, now log off, Charm.

I've done the test in JC before, but I read the description here and get freaked out still, because it sounds scarily like me in a lot of ways.
Take the test here!

Picked this up from Reader's Digest... I can't copy it wholesale, cos I'll be infringing copyright laws or something, but I'll give you the gist without the research details.
5 Surprising Reasons to Get More Sleep (rd april 06)
1. It could make you thinner (at least 5 hours per night to boost a hunger-suppressing hormone and reduce a hunger-inducing hormone)
2. It could boost your memory (Working into the night slows thinking skills)
3. It boosts the immune system
4. It can slow down ageing (Ppl who sleep 6-7 hours a night live longer than those sleeping less than 4.5 hours)
5. It could keep you on the straight and narrow. (Depression and low self-esteem associated with teens actually co-relate with sleep shortage. Drinks and drugs, too.)
*poke poke nudge nudge* You know who I'm talking about okay... So shoo, go and sleep now!

Super IQ Report

Your IQ score is 106. This means that you are smarter than 66.0% of all other Super IQ test takers.
This number is the result of a scientifically-tested formula based on how many questions you answered correctly on the Tickle Super IQ Test.
But there's more to intelligence than a single number, a single score, or a single label. Tickle uses 8 distinguishable dimensions of intelligence in the Super IQ Test. By analyzing your individual scores on those 8 scales, we are able to look beyond the raw IQ score into how you process information, and which intellectual strengths you're best at.
Your test results indicate that the way you process information makes you a Linguistic Architect.
You are brilliant with language and words. You are also very skilled at understanding things on an abstract or conceptual level. When you combine those two skills you are bound to communicate or create something new and complex.
This set of strengths (referred to as 'abstract reasoning,' meaning you have a flair for the intangible, intellectual, theoretical approach to life) allows you to understand math and science on a 'gut' level, even if the actual numerical math and science equations don't come easy. This gut-level understanding is typically enough to get you through without needing all of the details. You would probably do well as a writer of some kind or an author whose job it is to get difficult concepts across skillfully.
Here's an example of your Linguistic Architect thinking skills at work in a real-life situation:
You are with a couple — two friends of yours — who are having an argument. While listening to their discussion, you realize that they are both saying the same thing, only in different ways. So you interrupt the argument to ask whether you can try to articulate their opinions. When you state their opinions you use wording that you know both of them can understand. You also reword statements they've made so that they can both see that they're actually on the same wavelength. You watch their faces relax as they realize that they are actually seeing eye-to-eye on the topic. They go about the remainder of the day without arguing further on the matter and are, of course, grateful for your insight.
Your Super IQ Dimensions
Now that you know about how you process information, let's drill down to see what your specific intellectual strengths are. None of the intellectual abilities is more important than any of the others. And it's your unique scores on each of these scales, that makes you an interesting addition to any group, office, or family.
These intellectual strengths color your world and the way you perceive it, and also allow you to contribute your original perspective when solving problems and coming up with ideas. No one intellectual dimension can define you. It's the original combination of your intellectual strengths that makes you special.
As you can see, your top scores are in the areas of Verbal, Organizational, and Logical. This is a very unusual combination — only 6 in 1,000 people have it. Want more proof? Then pay attention to the percentages of people who scored higher and lower than you on each of the 8 intellectual strengths.

Take your test here, if you happen to be free, or need a break from mugging =) But be warned, it's long! Oh and leave a ripple to tell me how you fared, too :)

Good girl Charm, you pulled through your three-deadline-days!
I'm still alive! *bounces in exuberance* And it's good to be alive! Finished Renaissance and 18th Century and SS tutorial facilitation and Autumn leaves and half an Ipanema in three days :) (Although there's a lotta stuff I need to work on, still, and it's kinda worrying, but oh, I've got time to sing now! Can go home early and yodle away before my folks come home, hohoho...)
Since I'm in a celebratory post-essay good mood, if you ask me out for ice-cream within these two days, I'll probably treat you :)
18th Century was darn scary lar. Reached home at 11.30pm after prac, and at 1am I was still staring utterly dismayed at the computer, not knowing how to start, in a wild panic that I won't be able to finish, and couldn't write constructively at all... And it was bad this time 'cos there weren't fellow online lit-mates, or fellow essay-rushers, or the usual late-night people... Gave up and rested for an hour, determined to lie still even as the mind kept churning restlessly (like the Romanticism last week where sleep was mingled with murky Wordsworthian phrases and possible argument structure). Resumed work at 2.45pm, covered one-and-a-half texts by 5, napped another hour, and chiong all the way till 9.30am, and cabbed to school ($13 bucks, *sob*) just so to get it in by lecture break.
I'm so so thankful it's all done :)
Oh and I love SS film! I love analysing films, and Singapore films do have a certain familiar touch to it that you don't get in ang moh films, and are therefore easier to relate to and work with, I think. Plus we've got nice people, and our TA's good :) And I get to talk more during tutorial, like for anthropology tutorial, and I don't leave the room feeling sore that I'm not articulate enough to churn out helpful ideas, like I've been feeling for my lit modules this sem, argh. But let's not dwell on that.
Home-made film screening on Friday! So exciting~ Meanwhile I probably should begin on my uncompleted readings, read Waverley, Crashaw's poetry, Shakespeare's sonnets, and all all all the anthropology readings that I've left untouched all sem. Gosh.
Oh and as a side point, I got an absolute new high score of 33000 for my pool game during one of my frustrated essay-breaks for Renaissance. And my Pinball hi-score has shot up, credits to Romanticism essay. As for Hexic... I finished the game with black pearl cluster with starflowers to spare. Gosh. So incorrigible. Don't ask why lar k. Clicking furiously with your mouse or tapping your keyboard is a curious form of stress-relieving.

Oh you conscious little perfectionist.
I absolutely loathe migraines. *sobs* I need to do my essays! And finish reading my books! And prepare for a presentation/facilitation on the same day!
I can't bring myself to memorise scores here and now... no relaxed swing tempo or quirky waltz rhythm when my head's going tmtmtmtmtmtmtmtmtmtmtmtmtm.....
*shudders* I haven't got a reply for my request to extend 18th Century essay's deadline... Maybe it's better to chiong thru and get it over and done with.
Must rest.
